CRUISING LOG of ANIMA
  April 11:
Suez Canal - Cyprus - Eastern Aegean

Much sooner than expected the northerlies picked up again, so we had to hide in El Tur on the Sinai side of Egypt. Again waiting there for six days, only 120nm away from the Suez canal was quite frustrating. The good thing: We were able to fill up on fuel at the normal local price of 0,17Euro per litre! Usually foreign yachts pay foru times that much, but since hardly any boats do call here, nobody knew about this regulation and all five boats having left from Port Ghalib together took advantage of that fact.

Finally we arrived in Port Suez and were ready to transit the canal after doing the formalities with the canal authorities. Then again we were delayed for two more days due to warship traffic through the canal. But finally on April 12th, Anima was back "home" in the Med! The 200nm to Cyrpus were sailed with enthusiasm about being back in Europe and I enjoyed my 10 days in the port of Pafos, doing some maintenance work and waiting for warmer weather.

A good set of fresh Southeasterlies brought ANIMA to the Aegean Sea, where I first called at the island of Pafos, a fantastic first stop with a picturesque and idyllic town. Greek Island atmosphere at its best! Good to be here!
