CRUISING LOG of ANIMA
  JUNE 10:
Exploring Fiji - From Fiji to Vanuatu

After a few days of rest in Fiji´s capital Suva, I sailed on to explore some of the islands. Four weeks later I arrived in Vuda Point Marina, from where I had left to NZ last November. I met some old cruising friends there, and we had a good time, especially with the folks from PURA VIDA, Lauren and Dallas. Apart from that the soccer world cup had started and every night a small group of fans gathered at the TV watching the games.

Matthias and Cordula, a German couple arrived to join me for the trip to Vanuatu and afdter waiting for another few days we set sail for a fast 450nm passage to the island of Tanna, where we visited the famous active volcano.
In the village of the anchorage, again some local soccer enthusiasts gathered at the one TV, run by a small generator and we were welcome to join them.

From there we sailed on to Port Vila, where Matthias and Cordula left the boat, continuing their travelling around the world. I stayed there for a few days to watch some soccer games at the very comfortable Grand Hotel Lounge, before exploring the islands of Vanuatu.
