LOGBUCH DER ANIMA
  APRIL 10:
Last weeks in New Zealand

After four months on the berth in Tauranga it felt good to finally go sailing again. We left on the 7th of April and had a hilarous 65miles daysail to Great Mercury Island.
From there we sailed on to Great Barrier Island where we stayed for three days, rent a car and visited this beautiful place.
After stops in Tutukaka and the lovely bay of Whangamumu we finally reached the Bay of Islands, where we met many other cruisers who where getting ready to go back to the Tropics.

As usual time passed in a flash with several small maintenance jobs, day-sails in the Bay of Islands and meeting other yachtie-friends. It took two weeks to wait for a suitable weather window for departing to Fiji and the May 1st seemed like the perfect day, when we left together with a fleet of about 40 other boats towards the Tropics.
