After meeting an Austrian, who lived in Takaroa, I sailed on to Fakarava.
The next day, moving to another anchorage all of a sudden the engine died. After being towed back to the anchorage off the town, I discovered, that a bearing in the gear box was totally destroyed, therefore blocking the engine. My only idea was calling the boatyard in Papeete for help, where i had made a reservation 2 weeks later for a haulout. Next day they sent me a new bearing, I picked it up from the airport and 3 hours later everything was back and running! Wonderful service by Technimarine Boatyard in Papeete and a great relieve for me!
After visiting the other atolls of Toau and Apataki I sailed the 200nm to Papeete, where Anima was hauled out and got new painting of hull and bottom.
